Hi, I’m Christian Verdugo
Jack of all trades, master of none, but always eager to understand how things work.
What I Do
I’m a software developer specialized in backend and web development. My experience has focused mainly on designing and building REST APIs, making sure responses are clear, consistent, and standardized.
I regularly work with technologies such as Golang, React, Docker, and Kubernetes, and I keep learning new tools to bring into my work. I try to understand the processes I automate at a deeper level, rather than fully relying on solutions that do everything without understanding what’s happening behind the scenes.
My Story
My interest in technology started when I was very young. I was always curious: I loved exploring anything new that came into my hands, and I would often take it apart just to understand how it worked. I particularly remember trying to set up a Minecraft server on Google Cloud Platform using free credits, following along with a YouTube video, back when I didn’t even know what Linux was.
In high school, I had the opportunity to take an Arduino robotics course taught by Universidad de La Frontera (UFRO) during winter break. That experience was a turning point: seeing the code I wrote translate into actual movements of a robot sparked a genuine interest in applied programming.
After finishing high school, I took a year to figure out what I wanted to study, during which I worked as a mechanic alongside my father-in-law. The following year, I started studying Computer Engineering (Ingeniería Civil en Informática) at Universidad Católica de Temuco. Throughout the program, I had the chance to work across different areas, and robotics was the one I enjoyed the most. As of 2026, I’m currently finishing my degree.
